Raid in residential areas
Raids were also carried out at two residential units in Bukit Batok and Choa Chu Kang.
Four women, aged between 36 and 46, were arrested for remote communication used for offering or facilitating provision of sexual services under the Women’s Charter 1961.
Two were arrested from the unit at Bukit Batok, and the other two were arrested from the unit in Choa Chu Kang.
Upon entering the units, the women were seated near tables with various items such as foreign passports and communication devices laid out before them.
Mothership understands that the women advertised their services through messaging platforms. Potential patrons would accept their offers a few hours ahead of the meeting, and would enter the residential units to engage in vice activities.
The police were alerted to the vice activities through various sources such as police reports, eyewitness accounts and 999 calls.
Items such as condoms, bottles of massage oil, and handwritten records of earnings were seized for investigations.
Lingerie and used condoms were also found in the rooms.
Both units also had hidden security cameras installed outside to monitor activity outside the unit.
The unit in Choa Chu Kang placed the camera inside a shoebox.
The unit in Bukit Batok installed the hidden camera on the wall outside the unit.
The white box, which looked like a doorbell, had a small hole drilled on its side, which contained the camera.
The women could view the footage from inside the unit via television screen.
