Woman, 33, found dead & wrapped in plastic in Australia, husband missing
A car believed to be used in transporting Li's body has been seized.
A 33-year-old woman has been found dead near Sydney airport in Australia after being reported missing earlier this month.
Identified as Li Zhuojun "Sally", local police said that her decomposed body was found wrapped in plastic and suspected to have been dumped approximately nine days before it was found, reported The Guardian.
A silver Toyota car believed to have been used in transporting and dumping her body has been seized.
However, police have not spoken to anyone connected to the car, reported The Guardian.
Li, reported to be originally from China, had lived in Sydney for over 20 years, and Li's mother, also based in Australia, had reported the case to police earlier in December after being unable to reach her.
The discovery of Li's body has raised "grave concerns" for police over the welfare of her husband, Chen Jai-Bao "Rex", 33, who was reported missing alongside Li.
Chen, reported to be from Taiwan, is believed to be "onshore" based on travel records with no indication that he had left the country, said police, though unable to ascertain if he is dead or alive.
According to ABC News, the pair have not been seen since the end of November.
Li had no previous involvement with police, while Chen had "minor issues" in the past involving possessing stolen goods and possessing prohibited drugs, shared police.
Neither had reported a history of family violence.
Looking into the possibility of a third party
Police are also investigating the possibility of a third party's involvement in the matter because of how investigations have unfolded.
"Whether Rex is a person of interest, or whether he's a victim — we still don't know," said Homicide Squad commander Danny Doherty, reported ABC News.
"We do have to have an open mind, and look at a third party."
