South Korea National Assembly has voted to impeach President Yoon Suk Yeol on Saturday, Dec. 14.

The motion was passed with 204 out of 300 voting in favour of impeaching him, 85 votes against the impeachment, three abstains and eight invalid ballots, Korean media Yonhap reported.

To impeach Yoon, 200 of the National Assembly's 300 lawmakers had to vote in favour of his impeachment.

This is the second time lawmakers gathered to vote on an impeachment motion against Yoon.

Yoon survived an impeachment vote last Saturday (Dec. 7) after most ruling People Power Party (PPP) lawmakers boycotted the motion.

The impeachment comes after Yoon declared martial law in South Korea on Dec. 3.
