S'pore beats Cambodia 2-1 in Asean Football Championship

Singapore won 2-1 against Cambodia during the group stage of the 2024 Asean Football Championship tournament on Dec. 1.

The match, which took place on home ground at the National Stadium, was played in front of a roaring crowd of 12,391 spectators.

Singapore's two goals were scored by Faris Ramli during the ninth minute and Shawal Anuar during the 16th.

Meanwhile, Cambodia's only goal was scored by Sieng Chanthea during the 59th minute.

Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, Cambodia and Timor-Leste are in Group A, while Vietnam, Indonesia, Philippines, Myanmar and Laos are in Group B.

The top two teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals of the tournament, also known as the Asean Mitsubishi Electric Cup.

Next match

During subsequent group stage matches, Singapore will face Timor-Leste, Thailand and Malaysia.

Here are the dates and timings for the matches:

  • Timor-Leste: Dec. 14, 6:30pm
  • Thailand: Dec. 17, 8:30pm
  • Malaysia: Dec. 20, 9pm
