Another cinema is closing its doors as Shaw Theatres announced that its Seletar outlet will cease operations after Dec. 15, 2024, its last day of screening.
This is after 10 years since it opened at The Seletar Mall in December 2014.
"We are grateful for the wonderful decade spent serving the Seletar community," said Mark Shaw, director of Shaw Organisation Group of Companies.
The next nearest Shaw outlet would be NEX at Serangoon and Waterway Point in Punggol.
In conjunction with its closing, for every ticket purchased at Shaw Theatres Seletar from Dec. 2 to 15, patrons will receive a coupon that is redeemable at Shaw Theatres NEX or Shaw Theatres Waterway for a free regular popcorn combo or tater gems combo.
This closure comes after Eng Wah, one of Singapore's oldest cinema operators, closed its last cinema in Singapore.
After 80 years in the industry, Cathay Cineplexes took over the last WE Cinemas outlet at 321 Clementi on Nov. 1.
