Tickets for Dec. 26 Asean Championship semi-finals game at Jalan Besar Stadium sold out
Tickets went on sale at noon, and was sold out by 6:30pm.
Tickets for the Dec. 26 first leg of the Asean Football Championship semi-finals between Singapore and Vietnam have sold out.
The Football Association of Singapore (FAS) announced on their social media pages at 6:30pm on Dec. 22, that all tickets for the match had been sold out.
Semi-finals
Singapore came second in Group A of the Asean championship setting the stage for the two-legged semi-final.
The first leg of the final will be held at the 6,000-capacity Jalan Besar stadium, with 300 seats available for away fans.
FAS said that tickets for the match would only be available for sale at the stadium in order to ensure that “only Singapore fans would secure tickets to the home fans section.”
Long queues
Tickets went on sale at noon on Dec. 22, and by 1pm long queues had formed at the stadium.
FAS said that they were “thrilled by the overwhelming response” and that tickets were “flying off the shelves".
Ticket prices were set at S$24, S$35, and S$49, with away tickets being sold for S$38.
Pictures of the queue showed fans and their families queuing in the stadium’s car park, with some even bringing folding chairs to make the wait easier.
The first ten fans in the queue were even given a special surprise by Singapore’s captain Hariss Harun, who bought them tickets.
This is the second time in a decade since Singapore has reached the semi-final stage, having previously done so in 2020.
Ticket warning
Just after announcing that tickets had sold out, FAS also issued a warning against reselling the tickets.
FAS said that it was aware of attempts by some members of the public to resell tickets, and warned that it would not guarantee the authenticity of tickets resold via social media or online shopping platforms.
It warned that buying resold tickets might result in invalid tickets or counterfeit tickets.
FAS also urged away fans to not purchase such tickets as away fans trying to sit in the home section could be denied entry, or ejected if discovered.
Instead, FAS encouraged fans who were unable to get tickets to watch the match on meWATCH, which will kick off at 9pm on Dec. 26.
