A motorcyclist was trapped beneath a lorry for 30 minutes following a six-vehicle pile-up on the Pan-Island Expressway (PIE) on Dec. 12.
He and two others were sent to hospital.
The accident
Police and the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) told Mothership that they were alerted to the accident at 2:05pm along PIE towards Tuas.
The accident involved three cars, one mini-bus, one motorcycle and one lorry, police said.
SCDF said it took place before the Jalan Bahar exit.
Footage shared to the "Singapore roads accident.com" Facebook group showed a line of stationary vehicles along the left-most lane of the expressway.
Some of them had been damaged from the accident.
SCDF and police vehicles, as well as EMAS recovery vehicles, were also at the scene.
Motorcyclist trapped under lorry for half an hour
An eyewitness surnamed Zhang (transliteration) told Shin Min Daily News (Shin Min) that a motorcyclist involved in the accident was pinned beneath a lorry for about half an hour.
A picture shared by Zhang showed that the motorcycle suffered substantial damage, and there was a reddish stain on the road nearby.
A lorry behind it had a cracked windscreen.
SCDF said that a person was found trapped between a lorry and a motorcycle, and was rescued with hydraulic rescue equipment.
Three sent to hospital
Police said that a car driver, mini-bus driver and motorcyclist, all males aged between 26 and 49, were conveyed conscious to the hospital.
SCDF said that they were sent to National University Hospital.
Police investigations are ongoing.
