17 S'pore heartland locations to hold New Year's eve countdown celebrations
The islandwide countdowns will mark the start of SG60 celebrations.
You can participate in the upcoming countdown to 2025 new year festivities without travelling to town.
This year end, countdown celebrations will be happening islandwide at 17 heartland locations in Singapore, which are organised by the People's Association Grassroots Organisations (PA GROs).
Over 1,700 grassroots leaders and community volunteers are involved, said the PA GRO in a news release on Dec. 4.
The celebrations are part of One Countdown 2025, and mark the beginning of SG60 celebrations.

Activities differ at different locations
Each heartland celebration will offer a slightly different twist, and allow you to end the year on a high.
From arts to sports and even dance classes, here are some activities you and your family can enjoy at these countdown events.
Activities for all age groups
A variety of activities have been created islandwide to cater to all groups and interests.
In the north, residents can partake in mural painting and enjoy an interactive art installation at the Nee Soon Countdown 2025.
Woodlands' MY Countdown will also be having a pop-up musical instrument exhibition, with a variety of musical instruments contributed by volunteers.
In the east, a variety of K-pop dance sessions will occur at the Tampines Boogie Countdown.
Other activities include folding 2,025 origami cranes in vicinity of Aljunied-Hougang, or co-create artwork with a graffiti artist in Bedok.
For sport enthusiasts, residents can also try their hand at various sports at various heartland celebrations, including giant human bowling, inflatable archery and zig zag golf.
The PA GRO shared that community participation is "at the heart of the 17 heartland countdown celebrations".
The organisation hopes the activities can "bring families and friends together to celebrate, reflect, and share their resolutions for the New Year".
Members of the public can approach their nearby community clubs, residents’ committees, neighbourhood committees, and residents’ networks for more information on the events, said PA.
