A woman celebrating her birthday alone was given a touching celebration after a bakery she visited decided to surprise her with a cake and a birthday song.

This incident happened at Dessert On Wheels in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and was shared on the bakery's social media platforms on Dec. 4.

Customer came to buy a birthday cake for herself

In the video, the bakery said that after knowing that the customer was buying a cake for herself as it was her birthday that day, one of their staff members, Eryn, decided to give her a treat.

The customer, however, took out cash and insisted on paying.

"A few minutes later, we noticed the aunty celebrating alone," the bakery said, adding that she blew out a candle on her cake in the shop.

The bakery staff then decided to give her a surprise celebration.

When the customer left the shop for a while, the staff stopped what they were doing to prepare for the surprise.

"Everyone was so excited to surprise her," the bakery said.

While a few bakery staff members were preparing a birthday cake, two stood guard to check when the customer was returning.

Just as the customer came back with some biscuits to thank the staff for the cake, the staff began singing the "Happy Birthday" song.

The customer looked visibly touched at the heartwarming gesture and started tearing up.

That led to more tears.

While Eryn turned away to hide her tears, another staff member, Diyana, discreetly wiped her tears while hiding her face behind the cake box, the video showed.

After the staff returned to their work stations, the customer took off her glasses and wiped tears from her face and shirt.
