Chinese man marries Belarusian model, tie the knot in 48-couple traditional wedding in China
Cute.
A mass traditional Han-style wedding ceremony was held on Nov. 30, where 48 couples chose to tie the knot in downtown Changsha, the capital of Hunan province, in front of thousands of spectators.
Aimed at promoting traditional Chinese wedding culture, as well as encouraging the younger generation to get married, the event saw one unique couple catching the attention of Chinese netizens.
Not only was Chinese man Tian Jun of a different culture from his Belarusian wife Namei, but at 158cm, he was also significantly shorter than her, a model at 176cm tall.
How did they meet?
Sharing the couple's love story on the Chinese social media platform Douyin, Jun said the pair met when Namei came to China to pursue her modelling career while Jun was a modelling agent.
Though they did not speak the same language, the two slowly grew close over a few months and made an effort to learn each other's language.
Jun jokingly said that Namei became his English teacher.
They eventually fell in love and got married four years ago.
Jun said that before meeting Namei, he had gone on several blind dates over five years but could not find someone he truly liked.
He admitted that the two argued a lot at the beginning of the relationship, but they've gotten better at communicating with each other over the years.
"No matter which nationality your partner is from, there will always be conflicts and arguments," Jun reasoned, adding that compromise is key to a successful relationship.
Namei told ReNet.cn that her husband had a strong sense of responsibility and a man with such a good personality is hard to find.
