M'sian man tearfully says goodbye to stray dog he's been taking care of since young

Goodbyes are never easy, especially when it's with a longtime companion.

A TikTok user recently shared a heartwarming video capturing his emotional goodbye with a stray dog, Gendut, who has been his companion for years.

"Take care of yourself"

In the video, @nakgemoksikit said he has cared for Gendut since it was young.

Gendut would also excitedly greet the TikTok user when he returned to his hometown, where they would affectionately race with each other.

Unfortunately, the man's family would be moving to an urban area, forcing him to leave Gendut behind.

"Sorry, Gendut. We have no choice but to move. Take care of yourself, thank you for guarding the farm and the house all this time."

Helped to look after the family's farm

In the caption, the TikTok user said that his mother was a farmer, and that Gendut helped to look after the family's farm.

However, the family would be moving out of the farm and to the city, making it difficult to bring Gendut along.

The TikTok user assured that Gendut would be taken care of by a neighbour next door.

"Don't worry," he assured. "It's just sad because we've been taking care of [Gendut] since he was little."
