Ex-WP chief Low Thia Khiang not contesting next election: Younger gen can do much better than me
"We got a younger generation that can move the party forward. They can do much better than me," he said.
"I'm already retired. I'm not participating in the election," said former Workers' Party (WP) chief Low Thia Khiang, 68, confirming that he would not be running for the next general election.
In a video posted on the WP's Instagram account on Dec. 7, Low was asked by a resident if he was "retired" or participating in the next election whilst distributing the party's newsletter.
Low confirmed that he would not be contesting in the next general election and that rumours of him participating in the next general elections are rumours.
"We got a younger generation that can move the party forward. They can do much better than me," he said.
Singapore's next General Election must be called by November 2025.
