Japan girl, 15, dies after alleged stabbing by 'complete stranger' at McDonald's in Kitakyushu
A teenage boy was injured as well.
A 15-year-old female student in Japan has died after being allegedly stabbed by an unidentified man at a McDonald's in Kitakyushu on Dec. 14.
Another 15-year-old boy suffered minor injuries but survived, reported The Japan Times and NHK.
The two students are from the same high school.
Local police is currently searching for the suspect, who is said to have run away from the crime scene.
Kitakyushu is a city located in Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan.
Allegedly stabbed
According to local police, the girl was stabbed once in the abdomen and the boy was stabbed once in the lower back, reported The Japan Times.
They were reportedly waiting in line to order at McDonald's when the suspect stabbed them suddenly.
The boy later described the man as a "total stranger" to police.
The man is described by police as "approximately 40 years old and 170 centimetres tall" and was seen wearing a grey jacket, black pants and yellowish footwear.
He is believed to have fled with the weapon.
Police are looking for the suspect and investigating the case as murder.
