S'pore healthcare staff allegedly made live TikTok videos of patients' medical procedures
The information of patients were also apparently revealed in the videos.
A healthcare worker has allegedly been livestreaming the medical procedures of patients on TikTok and revealing their identities without their consent.
Worker has supposedly been livestreaming medical procedures
According to a Facebook post shared by user Hus Farrah to the group Complaint Singapore, the worker, who goes by the TikTok handle of @crishella, is supposedly associated with nursing agency Aseana Caretakers due to the uniform she wears in the videos.
Hus Farrah further alleged that patients' identification numbers and medication information are also being shared in these videos.
In addition, there is at least one video where a patient was supposedly in "severe pain during the procedure", the user claimed.
She then concluded by calling on Aseana Caretakers, the Singapore Nursing Board (SNB), the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) and the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) to investigate the matter.
TikTok account has been removed
Aseana Caretakers subsequently replied in a comment to the user's post, thanking her for bringing the matter to their attention.
The nursing agency said:
"We take patient confidentiality very seriously and have taken immediate action to address the situation.
We are currently reviewing our internal policies and procedures to strengthen our commitment to patient confidentiality and privacy."
The TikTok account in question has also been removed, Aseana Caretakers added.
"We [apologise] for any distress or concern this incident may have caused," they said.
