Man, 69, armed with rod, dies after clash with Kallang neighbour, 71, armed with knife
The older man was arrested.
A 69-year-old man died after getting involved in a physical altercation with his 71-year-old neighbour.
The incident at Block 805 King George's Avenue occurred on Dec. 22 at about 11:35am.
Shin Min Daily News reported that the fight started with the younger man first approaching his neighbour's house with a rod in hand.
Fight involving knife and stick
The two neighbours had reportedly clashed at the void deck.
Not satisfied with his neighbour's apology, the younger man picked up a rod and went to his neighbour's doorstep to demand an explanation.
Things escalated into a physical altercation, with the older neighbour pulling out a knife.
Sent to the hospital
After sustaining injuries from the fight, the deceased headed back downstairs.
He fainted at the door of the elevator.
He was sent to the hospital and was later pronounced dead.
According to Shin Min, the deceased was believed to have been suffering from heart problems.
Police said the 71-year-old man was arrested.
Investigations are ongoing.
