Circle Line stations that make line a complete circle targeted to open in 1st half of 2026
The circle is complete.
The sixth and final stage of the Circle Line (CCL) will be open to the public in the first half of 2026.
The three new underground stations which will complete the CCL as a loop are Keppel, Cantonment, and Prince Edward.
The announcement was made by Minister for Transport Chee Hong Tat on Dec. 3 at an interview with the media.
The 4km extension means commuters from Telok Blangah can save around 10 minutes when they go to Marina Bay from Harbourfront.
New DTL station to open in second quarter of 2025
Chee also announced the opening of a new station on the Downtown Line (DTL), Hume, in the second quarter of 2025.
The station will be located between Hillview and Beauty World stations and will serve over 20,000 residents in the area.
Additional DTL and TEL extensions in 2026
In addition, the DTL will see two more stations open in the second half of 2026 — the Xilin and Sungei Bedok stations.
Both of these stations will form an extension after the Expo station.
The extension means the DTL will also be connected to the Thomson-East Coast Line at Sungei Bedok station.
According to Chee, the fifth stage of the Thomson-East Coast Line (TEL) between Sungei Bedok and Bedok South stations will also be completed "by 2026".
Other future extensions
Chee also said the government would continue to press on with other projects such as the Jurong Region Line and Cross Island Line, which will open in stages in 2027 and 2030 respectively.
Other future planned extensions to existing lines include an extension to the DTL beyond Bukit Panjang and connecting it with the North-South Line at the new Sungei Kadut interchange station.
An extension to the TEL has also been planned in the mid-2030s to connect it with Changi Airport.
