Charlie Puth casually takes walk around MBS before S'pore concert

Charlie Puth was spotted at Marina Bay Sands (MBS) in Singapore on Dec. 9, taking an evening stroll a day before his concert.

Puth performed at the Singapore Indoor Stadium at 8pm on Dec. 10 as part of his "Something New" tour.

A TikTok video, posted on Dec. 10, showed Puth, dressed in a casual white top, jacket, and shorts, going down the escalator in The Shoppes at MBS with a few others.

"Charlie!" someone can be heard calling out.

Puth then gave the user a wave before continuing his merry way.

"Me casually calling Charlie Puth while roaming around MBS area as if we're next-door neighbors," the user jokingly commented.

Puth also reposted the video on his own TikTok account.

What happened

The user, who wishes to be called Ric Wanders, told Mothership that he was doing his usual run around the Marina Bay area at about 6:30pm when he almost bumped into Puth.

"I remember him looking at me for a second," he said, adding that he thought the man looked "really familiar".

Ric was a fan of Puth's but didn't manage to snag a ticket to his concert.

Wanting to make sure it wasn't a case of mistaken identity, Ric trailed behind Puth and his group but was too shy to approach him directly for fear of being wrong.

He also checked the singer's Instagram, and saw a recent post of MBS.

Ric soon got his confirmation — two other shoppers in MBS, who appeared to have recognised the singer, were told by the group Puth was with that Puth just wanted to enjoy a walk.

That was when Ric took the short video of Puth going down the escalator.

Ric added that the small wave Puth gave him and the other two shoppers felt "really good".

"It was an unbelievable experience seeing someone so famous just walking casually in Singapore," Ric remarked.

Background

The Grammy-nominated singer is known for hits such as "Attention", "We Don't Talk Anymore", and "Left and Right", which featured BTS' Jungkook.

Just days prior, Puth had also performed in Taiwan and South Korea.
