Body of man, 57, found floating in waters near Boat Quay
The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The body of a 57-year-old man was found floating in the waters near Boat Quay at around 7:05am on Dec. 1.
The Singapore Police Force (SPF) and Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) confirmed with Mothership that they received a call for assistance near 6 Eu Tong Sen Street.
The body was subsequently retrieved from the waters.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene by an SCDF paramedic.
Blue tent seen in photo
A Xiaohongshu user shared that the scene happened on the morning of Dec. 1, but clarified that they found the photos online.
A blue tent can be seen in the photo, with numerous police officers standing nearby.
No foul play suspected
SCDF told Mothership that a body was seen floating in the water upon its arrival.
"Based on preliminary investigations, the police do not suspect foul play," SPF said.
Police investigations are ongoing.
