Astons Steak & Salad prices up 19% due to service fee & GST charges since Dec. 1, 2024
The price increase only applies to Astons Steak & Salad brand.
It now costs 19 per cent more to eat at Astons Steak & Salad.
Since Dec. 1, 2024, meals at the restaurant have been subjected to a 10 per cent service charge and the prevailing 9 per cent Goods and Services Tax (GST).
This is to adapt to "increasing operational challenges", while still maintaining the quality of its food, Astons Steak & Salad, which is part of the Astons chain, announced.
Prices on menu do not account for service charge and GST
Prior to Dec. 1, 2024, all prices on the Astons Steak & Salad menu were "nett" prices.
This was in line with the other concepts under the Astons brand.
As of Dec. 1, 2024, the "nett" portion has been removed and a line about all prices being subjected to a 10 per cent service charge and "prevailing government tax", has been added.
As an example, a sirloin steak, which is listed as S$31.90, will now cost S$37.96 once the service charge and GST are factored in.
In response to Mothership's queries, Aston Food & Beverage Specialities confirmed that this 19 per cent increase only applies to Astons Steak & Salad.
