The Singapore police have arrested two male youths, aged 15 and 16, on Dec. 23 in relation to the case where three bicycles were left on Commonwealth Avenue road.

The police confirmed that a report was lodged following the incident and the case is classified as rash act with common intention. Investigations are ongoing.

Background

A private-hire vehicle (PHV) driver apparently noticed that his path was blocked by a row of bicycles while driving along Commonwealth Avenue in the early hours of Dec. 20.

The three bicycles were blocking three lanes of the road.

Caught off guard, he jammed the brakes so hard that his passenger spilled his takeaway food all over the car.

The incident was shared on Facebook by another PHV driver.

"Such a dangerous prank!" she wrote.

The three bicycles appeared to be from at least two bike-sharing fleets.

They were apparently put up as obstructions next to a bus stop outside Queens Condo, down the road from Queenstown MRT station.

A taxi apparently collided into the last bicycle.
