8 fires 'intentionally started' at Yishun condo worksite over 8-day period: SCDF
Two people were conveyed to hospital for smoke inhalation in one of the incidents.
Eight fire incidents were reported at a condominium construction site at Yishun Close from Nov. 20 to 27.
The location is confirmed to be at North Gaia, a new executive condominium development in Yishun.
Preliminary investigations suggested that the fires were "intentionally started", the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) told Mothership.
What happened
Videos sent to Mothership showed flames and black smoke emanating from an apartment on the upper floor of a building.
The Mothership reader said the incident happened on Nov. 21.
The reader also mentioned that an apartment on the lower floor had caught fire the day before.
"These fires, which mainly involved construction materials and furniture at various locations within the construction site, were either swiftly extinguished by SCDF or by the workers at the construction site," said SCDF.
In one of the fire incidents, two people were conveyed to Singapore General Hospital (SGH) for smoke inhalation.
No other injuries were reported.
