Duty-unpaid cigarettes found in car after collision with bus in Woodlands
The case has been referred to Singapore Customs.
A car collided with a Cross Border AC 7 bus at the junction of Woodlands Avenue 9 and Woodlands Industrial Park E4 on Nov. 20 afternoon.
Lianhe Zaobao reported that the car is a Malaysia-registered vehicle.
As a result of the collision, three bus passengers, aged between 48 and 78, were conveyed conscious to the hospital, the Singapore Police Force (SPF) told Mothership.
AC7 is a cross-border bus service that travels between Yishun bus interchange and Sultan Iskandar CIQ complex in Johor Bahru, according to Land Transport Guru.
Aftermath
The aftermath of the incident was caught on camera by an onlooker who subsequently uploaded the photos to Chinese social media Xiaohongshu.
One of the photos showed the front of the car severely damaged.
Its bonnet was damaged and its bumper had fallen off.
The collision also left black scratch marks on the right side of the bus.
At least three personnel, including a traffic police officer, were present at the scene.
A paramedic could be seen pushing a gurney next to the bus.
Police, SCDF statements
In response to Mothership's queries, SPF and the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) confirmed they were alerted to the collision at around 12:55pm.
The three bus passengers were conveyed to Woodlands Health Campus.
After police officers found duty-unpaid cigarettes in the car, they referred the case to Singapore Customs.
Police investigations are ongoing.
