A van went flying after it crashed into a road divider near the junction of Upper Serangoon Road and Serangoon Central.
Footage from a dashboard camera of a passing vehicle showed the van travelling backwards and barreling through the railing.
Speaking to Mothership, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) confirmed that the incident took place on Nov. 26, 2024 at about 7:45pm.
Van skidded into railing
In the video uploaded onto Facebook, the van was first seen stalled near the sidewalk.
It looked to have made a left turn that was too wide.
While appearing to reverse, the van ended up skidding backwards and clean through the road divider.
The railing collapsed.
As for the van, it flew across two more lanes before its trajectory was stopped by a pillar on the pavement.
A photo of the aftermath showed the boot of the van dented by the impact of the collision.
Police were also present at the site.
Driver suffered minor injuries
The police and SCDF told Mothership that they were alerted to the accident on the same night.
Police believed that the van self-skidded along Upper Serangoon Road towards Sengkang East Drive.
The 26-year-old male driver sustained minor injuries but declined to be sent to the hospital.
He is currently assisting police with investigations.
