An unexploded World War II relic was discovered in a country club in Singapore on Nov. 21.

It was later successfully removed by the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) from the site in Keppel Club.

In response to Mothership’s queries, the Singapore Police Force (SPF) said they were alerted to a suspected war relic found at 239 Sime Road at around 9:15am.

Posed no danger to public: SPF

According to SPF, the police worked with SAF's Explosive Ordnance Disposal unit and confirmed that the relic was a World War II unexploded bomb.

It was assessed to be safe for handling, and SAF has since removed it from the area for disposal.

The police added that it had posed no danger to the public.

An email sent to club members by Singapore Island Country Club stated that the bomb was removed at around 5pm, reported The Straits Times.

The club, which operates near Keppel Club, added that traffic was redirected and areas were cordoned off following the discovery.

Mothership has reached out to Keppel Club for comment.
