The singer died after falling from a third floor hotel balcony on Oct. 16, 2024.
Argentinian authorities have arrested three people in relation to One Direction star Liam Payne's death in Argentina, reported BBC.
They were a suspected drug dealer, a hotel employee who may have provided the cocaine, and a person who was close to the singer, according to media reports.
The first two individuals have been charged for supplying Payne with drugs.
The person who had accompanied the artist was charged with the abandonment of a person followed by death, and for supplying and facilitating the use of drugs.
The identities of the three arrested have yet to be revealed.
Tests revealed that the singer was intoxicated
The 31-year-old star's unexpected death on Oct. 16 sent shockwaves around the globe, much to the horror of fans.
The father of one had died after falling from the third floor balcony of the Casa Sur Palermo hotel in Buenos Aires.
Hotel staff had previously phoned emergency services moments before Payne's death, stating that they had a guest who had appeared to have taken "too many drugs and alcohol" and called for help to be sent "urgently", reported BBC.
Investigations conducted after the singer's death led local police to find substances in his hotel room, destroyed objects and furniture.
According to the public prosecutor's office, toxicology tests have revealed the presence of alcohol, cocaine and a prescription antidepressant in Payne's body.
However, a post-mortem examination has determined Payne's cause of death as a result of "internal and external haemorrhage" due to "multiple traumas" as a result of a fall.
Investigations are still ongoing
Local authorities are still investigating the singer's sudden death, and have carried out nine raids at various homes in Buenos Aires, noted BBC.
Payne's personal belongings, including his broken laptop, amongst other devices, have been seized.
Over 800 hours of video footage have also been examined from security cameras in the hotel and on public roads.
