Up-and-coming T-pop boy band BUS had a fan sign event in Bangkok, Thailand on Nov. 3, 2024.

A Singaporean fan shared a TikTok video of her “pleasant” interaction with group leader Alan, who surprised her by chatting in Singlish.

Spoke to fan in Singlish

Speaking to Mothership, the fan, Nurul Huda, shared that hearing Alan speak in Singlish was especially meaningful to her, as she had been supporting BUS since their debut.

In the video, Nurul asked Alan if he was fluent in Singlish.

"Can la, a bit can," he replied, laughing.

He added that although it had been "quite a while," he still "got it".

Alan continued showing off his Singlish skills, saying: "I love to dabao food."

He also told Nurul that he got into Bedok Green Secondary School through the Admissions Exercise for International Students (AEIS), she shared.

"It also made me laugh a little because of how local he sounded," Nurul said.

Told another fan he studied in Singapore

Another Singaporean fan, @qazimzim, shared a video on Instagram of his encounter with Alan during the group’s “Thailand Fancon Tour” in Hat Yai on Oct. 13.
