A Singaporean man, who served as a partner of cryptocurrency trading company DWF Labs, has been accused of spiking a woman's drink at a bar in Hong Kong on Oct. 24 evening.

In an Oct. 29 X post recounting the incident, the woman, who goes by the username "Hana小屁娜", said she had already reported the man to the Hong Kong police.

To support her claims, she also put up a screenshot of CCTV footage, which showed the man apparently hovering his right hand over a glass cup held in his left hand.

Hana's account

Speaking to DL News, Hana shared she is 27 years old and had flown to Hong Kong from Tokyo in the hopes of securing a job in the cryptocurrency industry.

In a separate interview with a blockchain podcast content creator, Hana revealed that she got to know the alleged perpetrator during a fintech event in Hong Kong in April 2024.

Since then, the pair had "kept in touch", with the man allegedly approaching Hana "a couple of times" to offer her an opportunity, which he described as "a perfect fit" for her background.

As Hana was new to the field and was "eager to learn", she accepted his invitation to meet up at a bar in Hong Kong on Oct. 24.

Apparently complained about his marriage

Hana claimed in the podcast that after she and the man met up at around 8:25pm, he supposedly told her he has two children and he was "unhappy" in his marriage, even apparently revealing that he and his wife were "no longer sleeping on the same bed".

At around 10:15pm, Hana left for a toilet break and returned to her seat within "a few minutes".

The pair subsequently resumed drinking, and Hana "took a few sips" of her drink.

At one point, the man allegedly told Hana that he would need to "pick up a call outside the bar, as it was too noisy inside".

Waitress 'suspected something amiss', alerted Hana

As soon as the man stepped outside the bar, a waitress rushed over and told Hana that "she thinks the man had put something" in her drink, Hana recounted.

Upon hearing this, Hana was "so shocked that she began to shiver".

However, she decided to stay at the table because she "could not believe the man could do something so horrible" and that the incident must have been "a misunderstanding".

Hana also requested a new drink from the waitress.

Man allegedly urged Hana to finish drink faster

According to Hana, when the man returned to the table, she tried to sound him out by asking him whether she could replace her drink, as she did not like the flavour.

However, he apparently objected, and told her "not to waste it".

He then "finished his own drink in one gulp" and allegedly urged Hana to consume hers.

Hana said it was then she knew something was amiss.

Man allegedly invited Hana to hotel

However, just as Hana stepped outside the bar, she felt "extremely dizzy", she claimed.

In response, the man allegedly pulled her towards him and told her to go to his suite at a five-star hotel, that he could give her more Alpha, which is a utility token, and help her get to places.

Hana said she was disgusted by his words and only managed to get away when a taxi arrived, and "shut the door" before the man got on.

Lodged police report

Hana decided to lodge a police report at Central police station on Oct. 29 and retrieved the CCTV camera footage from the bar to keep it as evidence.

"After watching [the footage], I felt even more disgusted as he spiked the drink multiple times, swirled it around so that the powder [was] dissolved," Hana wrote about what the footage revealed.

She added that she felt "lucky" to have been saved by the waitress, and wanted to go public to prevent something similar from happening to others.

"Even in seemingly professional settings, women are not always safe. Always keep an eye on your drink and trust your instinct, no matter who you are with," she added.

DWF Labs statement

Four hours after Hana published her post, DWF Labs issued a statement on its X page on Oct. 29, stating that it was "aware of the recent and deeply concerning allegations" involving one of its partners, who was "accused of inappropriate and unacceptable behaviour".

"While the matter is under investigation, DWF Labs has decided to dismiss the said partner from management and operational roles effective immediately," the statement read.

The company added that it holds "the utmost respect for all individuals" and is "unwavering" in its commitment to creating "a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for everyone".

"We will continue to monitor the situation and stand in solidarity with individuals affected by such incidents, as we believe in justice and support for all," said DWF Labs.

DWF Labs 'considering further legal actions'

On Nov. 2 (Singapore time), managing partner of DWF Labs, Andrei Grachev, shared in an X post that he had seen the CCTV footage and "was shocked at how [the alleged perpetrator] could do such sh*t".

Grachev added the company is considering "further legal actions" against the alleged perpetrator and has withdrawn the funds it invested in his employer, Open Eden Labs, a token T-bill issuer.

According to Open Eden Labs, the alleged perpetrator's employment at the company has been formally terminated as of Oct. 30.

The online profile of the man has apparently been removed from both DWF Labs and Open Eden Labs.

Mothership has reached out to Hana and the Hong Kong Police Force for comments.
