5 SIA flights from Incheon airport in Seoul to S'pore delayed due to heavy snow
The delays were between one and nine hours.
Several Singapore Airlines (SIA) flights from Incheon International Airport in Seoul, South Korea to Changi Airport were delayed on Nov. 27 and 28.
In response to Mothership's queries, a SIA spokesperson said five flights bound for Singapore were postponed due to adverse weather conditions.
The flights affected were:
- SQ601 (Nov. 27)
- SQ605 (Nov. 27)
- SQ607 (Nov. 27 and 28)
- SQ611 (Nov. 27)
Delayed for seven hours
A Mothership reader, who was also a passenger on SQ601 on Nov. 27, said she was stuck at the airport for around seven hours.
The flight was initially supposed to take off at 4:45pm (South Korea time).
It eventually departed at 10:28pm (Singapore time) and landed in Singapore at 6:02am on Nov. 28.
Images provided by the reader showed a stationary SIA plane covered in snow.
Heavy snow was captured falling and engulfing parts of the airport, seemingly restricting movement of aircraft.
Delays ranged between one and nine hours: SIA
According to the SIA spokesperson, the delays were between one and nine hours.
The airline also said it provided affected passengers with the necessary assistance and refreshments on the ground or in the aircraft.
The spokesperson added that the airline will continue to monitor the situation and adjust its flights if necessary.
"SIA sincerely apologises to all customers for the inconvenience caused. The safety of our customers and crew is always our top priority," the spokesperson said.
