A massive reticulated python was caught on Nov. 9 near Paya Lebar Square.
Footage of the capture was uploaded onto Facebook group Singapore Wildlife Sightings on the same day.
According to the clip, two NParks staff located the python within a dense shrub with snake tongs.
Then, they hoisted the massive creature out into the open.
This python had a very noticeable bulge around its middle section, prompting Facebook users to surmise that it just had a meal.
From the clip, it appears that the python was about 6 metres to 7 metres in length.
The snake was subsequently taken to Mandai Wildlife Group for assessment and is currently being monitored.
"Don't take picture, cannot cannot."
In the footage, the woman behind the camera can be heard musing that the snake appeared because of the recent wet weather.
Just then, a man dressed in a white shirt, black tie, and lanyard came up to the camera and tried to stop her from filming.
"Don't take picture, cannot cannot," he said.
The woman stood her ground and insisted that she had the right to film and that she wasn't standing anywhere near the animal.
The NParks advises members of the public to remain calm if they encounter a snake in a public area.
They should also back away slowly, and give the creature space to retreat.
They should not approach the snake or handle it by themselves.
Instead, they can request assistance via the NParks hotline (1800-476-1600).
