Girl, 14, dies after falling from height at secondary school in Penang
She was reportedly a Secondary 2 student at the school.
A 14-year-old girl was found lying motionless on the ground after falling from the eighth floor of a secondary school in Penang, Malaysia, at around 4:45pm on Nov. 18.
She was subsequently rushed to a local hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries, according to China Press.
The girl was reportedly a Secondary 2 student at the school.
Police statement
In a statement seen by China Press, Timur Laut district police chief Abdul Rozak Muhammad said that the police received a report on the incident at around 5:57pm on Monday (Nov. 18).
After conducting investigations at the scene of the incident and examining the girl's body, the police "found no evidence of foul play", said Rozak.
He added the police had classified the case as sudden death, and they will conduct further investigations based on the sudden death report.
To avoid derailing police investigations, Rozak urged the public to refrain from speculating about the case.
He also called on them not to spread photos or videos of the incident further to show respect for the girl's family.

Instead, the student was believed to have been "emotionally distressed" and had been "showing signs of depression" before the incident.
Further investigations into the girl's passing by the Penang state education department are ongoing, he added.
Police found note believed to be written by girl
In an updated statement on Nov. 19 morning, Rozak told China Press that the police had discovered a short note during investigations at the school on Nov. 18 night.
The note, believed to be written by the girl, stated that "she faced stress in her academics".
Rozak added that the police are currently waiting for the post-mortem report, according to Bernama.
China Press reported that it understands that it is currently the examination period for the secondary school.
Some students also took exams on the day of the incident.
The district education department had instructed the school to submit a report on the incident.
