Good news for those living in the northeast: The Land Transport Authority (LTA) announced the new Buangkok bus interchange will open on Dec. 1, 2024.
The bus interchange will be integrated with Sengkang Grand Mall and Buangkok MRT station.
Compassvale bus interchange to cease operations
It will commence operations with three bus services: 110, 114 and 156.
Bus services 110 and 156 are being relocated from the Compassvale and the Sengkang bus interchanges, respectively.
With the opening of the Buangkok bus interchange and the relocation of bus service 110, the Compassvale bus interchange will stop operations.
Its only other service, bus 374, will be relocated to the Sengkang bus interchange without changing its stopping points.
Facilities
The new bus interchange will accommodate seven bus services, and new routes will be introduced progressively in tandem with upcoming developments in the area.
LTA added that the Buangkok bus interchange is designed with inclusivity in mind, with features catering to families with young children, seniors, and people with mobility challenges.
It will feature barrier-free access at entrances and a priority queue zone with seating at all boarding berths.
There will be a wheelchair-accessible toilet and a baby care room for parents.
The bus interchange will also have dedicated facilities for its staff, such as a canteen, staff toilets, a cleaner's room and a staff lounge.
