Multi-vehicle collision along BKE sends 17 people to hospital
Police investigations are ongoing.
A multi-vehicle collision involving six vehicles occurred on the BKE towards Woodlands Checkpoint on the morning of Nov. 29.
Responding to queries from Mothership, police and the Singapore Civil Defense Force (SCDF) confirmed they were alerted to the incident at around 8am on Friday morning.
A total of 17 individuals comprising lorry drivers, passengers, and a car driver were conveyed conscious to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital and Woodlands Health Campus.
Extent of damages
The aftermath of the accident, captured in a video and posted on the Singapore Roads Accident Facebook page, revealed extensive damage to each vehicle.
The video showed people standing around the damaged vehicles with umbrellas deployed, amidst a downpour.
The windshield of a blue bus was detached, with the part of it shattered.
The windscreen of a grey lorry was also shattered.
Debris could be seen scattered on the ground.
A group of workers were also seen standing in the rain, next to a heavily dented white car.
The driver of the white car was seen removing what appeared to be a deployed airbag.
Police investigations are ongoing.
