WhatsappThe viral pygmy hippo from Thailand has spoken.

Moo Deng has predicted that former U.S. President Donald Trump will win the 2024 U.S. presidential election, which will take place on Nov. 5, 2024.

In a video uploaded by the zoo to X (formerly known as Twitter), Moo Deng's zoo keeper prepared two fruit bowls with the names of the two U.S. presidential candidates, Trump and current Vice President Kamala Harris.

The keeper then placed the two fruit bowls in the middle of Moo Deng's enclosure.

The video then cuts to the little hippo enjoying the fruit bowl with Trump's name, casting its prediction.

The election of 2024

The 2024 U.S. presidential elections began on Nov. 5, when the tiny town of Dixville Notch, Hampshire, began casting its votes.

With its six registered voters, the town cast their votes in the early hours of election days.

The ballots were opened and counted quickly, resulting in a tie with three votes for Trump and three for Harris.

The rest of America will head to the polls throughout Nov. 5.

Unlike in Singapore, receiving the most number of votes in a presidential election does not make one the president.

Instead, one must get the majority of votes in the Electoral College to win.

Every state in the U.S. (and the capital of Washington DC) awards a certain number of electoral votes (EVs) to the candidate who gets the most votes within that state.

As there are 538 EVs to be awarded in total, a candidate must score at least 270 to win.
