Mercedes crashes into railing at Newton, woman, 61, arrested for drink driving

No major injuries were reported.

A car crashed into a railing at the side of the road along Cairnhill Rise after a suspected self-skidding incident on Oct. 30.

A woman, 61, was arrested for suspected drink driving.

In a video posted on Facebook page SG Road Vigilante, the silver Mercedes could be seen damaged, with parts of its bumper on the side of the road.

It then reversed away from a wrecked guard railing.

A woman, believed to be the driver, was also seen in what appeared to be an argument with a man in a black shirt.

Emergency vehicles later turned up at the scene.

Mothership understands that no assault took place during the incident.

In response to Mothership's queries, the Singapore Police Force confirmed that the accident took place at around 9:50pm that night.

It also confirmed that a 61-year-old female driver was arrested for suspected drink driving.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) also said that they had been alerted to the road traffic accident.

Two persons were assessed for minor injuries but declined to be conveyed to the hospital.

Police investigations are ongoing.
