150 people were evacuated and one person was sent to the hospital after a fire broke out at Marina Square on Nov. 6.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) confirmed with Mothership that they were alerted to the fire at about 12:25pm.
Smoke spread from mall fire
Pictures shared to Xiaohongshu showed SCDF and police officers at the scene.
The user wrote in her caption that she was looking for a place to have lunch on Nov. 6, when she realised the mall was "full of smoke".
She added that some shops in the mall supposedly near the fire were closed.
She was later asked to evacuate the mall as well.
A video of a food court in Marina Square shared to TikTok the same afternoon also showed smoke drifting along the mall's ceiling.

Fire involved electrical wiring: SCDF
SCDF said that the fire involved electrical wiring at the second floor.
It added that the fire was extinguished by the company emergency response team using fire extinguishers.
About 150 persons were evacuated from the premises and SCDF conveyed a person to Raffles Hospital.
The cause of fire is under investigation.
