Many can understand the desire to be close to a loved one after losing them.

One man in Malaysia found his own unique way to feel connected to his late mother — by lying beside her grave every day.

According to a witness, who shared the story on Facebook, the man had been visiting his mother’s grave for several months.

The witness, identified as Su Ahmad, explained that she frequently saw the man at the cemetery, whether it was morning or evening, whenever she visited her husband’s grave.

Sleeping beside mother's grave

In a photo that Su shared, the man, dressed in a food delivery uniform, could be seen lying beside a grave, apparently fast asleep.

His motorcycle with a food delivery bag was parked near by.

Su mentioned that she took the photo just 30 minutes before the cemetery gates were about to close.

At first, Su considered waking him up but was stopped by her children, who suggested that the man might simply be exhausted and was resting.

Tragic loss

Su’s children had spoken to the man on previous visits, and he shared that his mother was a nasi lemak vendor in Bangi.

She passed away in a road accident, and since then, he has been visiting her grave daily.

However, Su mentioned that she has not seen him in recent weeks, and she expressed her hope that he is doing well and staying healthy, which implied he has since moved on from the tragedy.

Touched hearts online

The man’s dedication to his mother touched many hearts online.

Commenters were moved by his devotion, with some sharing that they, too, had thought about lying beside the graves of their loved ones.

Many others sent their prayers and well wishes for the man to find peace and for his well-being.
