Man in Pasir Ris park allegedly shot in the arm by police
He was apparently armed and was taken to hospital after the shooting.
A man suspected of holding a weapon was shot in the arm by the police and hospitalised.
According to Lianhe Zaobao, the incident occurred at about 6am on Nov. 8 at the bird watching tower at Pasir Ris Park opposite Downtown East.
The exact weapon the man allegedly carried with him was not reported.
The man had reportedly wanted to attack other people at the bird watching tower.
An eyewitness said he appeared agitated.
Police officers arrived at the scene and attempted to dissuade the man, but failed.
The man was then shot in the arm and subdued.
He was later sent to the hospital for treatment.
Lianhe Zaobao reported that when its reporter arrived at the scene at about 10am, the area had already been cordoned off, with the walkway leading to the bird watching tower blocked off.
It is understood that the authorities will be releasing more information soon.
