Man doing clean-up work falls into waters near Woodlands Waterfront Jetty
Search efforts are being carried out.
A man who was doing clean-up work near Woodlands Waterfront Jetty was suspected to have fallen into the water at around 10am on Thursday, Nov. 7.
The company responsible for carrying out the clean-up at sea discovered that a male employee was missing.
Fire engines and ambulances from the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) were seen parked near the jetty, according to Lianhe Zaobao.
In response to Mothership's queries, the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) said it was informed that a crew onboard a flotsam retrieval craft had fallen overboard off Woodlands Waterfront Jetty.
MPA has deployed its craft to the area and is coordinating search efforts with assets from the Police Coast Guard and SCDF.
MPA has issued navigational broadcast to vessels in the vicinity to keep a lookout for any person in the water, it said.
