Man, 42, arrested for possession of offensive weapon after Woodlands fight at 1am

Police efforts to trace other persons involved are underway.

UPDATE on Nov. 20 at 11am: Police have arrested two men, aged 17 and 25, for rioting while armed with a deadly weapon.

A 42-year-old man was sent to hospital after a fight broke out in a Woodlands Housing and Development Board (HDB) estate in the wee hours of the morning on Nov. 11.

Police and the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) confirmed with Mothership that at 12:55am, they were alerted to the fight at Block 182A Woodlands Street 13.

The same man was subsequently arrested for possessing a weapon.

The aftermath

Pictures shared to the "sgfollowsall" Instagram page showed that at least two police vehicles were at the scene.

According to an eyewitness account shared to the page, a group of people were involved in the fight, and one man was lying on the ground.

One of the individuals allegedly stabbed the man before fleeing the scene, the eyewitness added.

Two women were apparently seen trying to help the injured man.

Man sent to hospital, arrested for possessing weapon

Police told Mothership that a 42-year-old man was conveyed conscious to the hospital, and was subsequently arrested for possession of offensive weapon.

SCDF said the person was conveyed to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital.

Another person was assessed for minor injuries but declined to be sent to the hospital.

Police said efforts to trace other persons involved are underway.

Police investigations are ongoing.
