S$500,000 Hunt The Mouse gold coin found by a team of 3 in Bedok
They have foregone sleep to hunt for the gold coin ever since it dropped.
The Hunt The Mouse gold coin exchangeable for S$500,000 cash was found by a group of three at 1:43am on Nov. 8.
The gold coin was found under a bench in front of Block 208 New Upper Changi Road in Bedok.
The person who found it was Wee Kiat, who did it with the support of his team members, Edward Ter and Erwin Teo.
A team in Sqkii, the gamification company behind the hunt, completed its thorough verification process and confirmed the winners publicly at 4:30pm on Friday in a post announcing the gold coin's discovery.
All three youths have never found a Hunt The Mouse gold coin before this.
Wee Kiat and Ter have known each other since secondary school, Sqkii said.
Teo and the two friends were strangers to one another, but bonded during previous hunts, Sqkii told Mothership.
They then formed a team together.
Searched night and day
The team embarked on their search daily since the hunt started.
Ever since the gold coin was dropped on Oct. 30, they hunted for it day and night with little sleep.
Sqkii said in a statement: "We are very happy to see over a million players coming together, getting active, and exploring different parts of Singapore with friends, family, and even strangers — all in less than a month."
Those with queries can head to Sqkii's Instagram Stories to ask the winners questions and for them to explain the hints.
Some silver coins worth S$500 or S$2,500 each are still hidden around Singapore and are up for grabs.
New evergreen year-long hunt
It was also announced that an evergreen edition of the Hunt The Mouse game will be launched in Singapore.
Starting from Nov. 14, 2024, this year-round version of Hunt The Mouse will introduce silver coins for players to keep hunting all year round, leading up to the next million-dollar hunt.
Sqkii said this "slower pace" and "evergreen edition" will bring new gameplay, fresh power-ups, and thematic experiences, giving everyone the chance to enjoy it throughout the year.
