A pair of foreign workers and several secondary school students banded together to rescue a cat stuck on the second floor ledge of Block 408 Pandan Gardens.

The incident on Nov. 14 at about 10:30am was caught on camera by Susan Lee, a volunteer with the Cat Welfare Society, who eventually took the cat in.

Received a call for help

According to Lee, who is in her 60s, she got a call from a resident on the way out of the house that a cat was stuck on the second floor ledge.

The cat appeared to be shaking and drooling, Lee told Mothership.

She then went over to Pandan Gardens immediately.

Others to the rescue

The cat's predicament was also noted by a foreign worker doing work in the area, as well as several students from West Spring Secondary School who happened to pass by.

The foreign worker volunteered to help by providing a ladder.

The first ladder he had with him was too short, but he got his colleague to bring over a taller ladder.

As seen in the video, one of the workers who climbed up the ladder wrapped a cloth around the cat to bring it down to safety.

The students and the other foreign worker helped to hold the ladder steady.

Those on the ground cheered when the cat was brought down.

It is not known how the cat ended up on the second floor ledge in the first place.

Lee took the cat with her following the rescue.

Community cat lived in the area

Lee, who is also a grassroots leader, said: "The cat belongs to this block, and is loved by many residents."

"One resident told me that if it is safe to put the cat at home, he will be more than happy to keep him for the rest of his old age days."

In an update on the cat's condition, Lee said the feline is back to normal, but still appears a bit weak as it may be frightened.
