East Coast Park underpass floods after rain
One commenter said the underpass looked "like Venice".
UPDATE on Nov. 17 at 7pm: This article has been updated with LTA's statement.
An underpass at ECP temporarily turned into an ankle-deep pool as water flooded into the tunnel on Nov. 13.
A video uploaded on TikTok showed passers-by carefully making their way across.
The user who posted the video stated the flooded underpass happened after heavy rain, which occurred from around 1pm to 4pm on the same day.
Ankle-deep water
In the video, the user carefully makes their way across the underpass as the floor can be seen submerged in water.
The water appeared to be ankle-deep.
A man riding a bicycle can also be seen carefully cycling through the flood as he holds an umbrella in one hand.
Other passers-by can also be seen slowly making their way across the underpass.

Some commenters joked that the flood turned the underpass into a Venice canal, while others quipped that people should bring their swimsuits to swim.
Others said calling the incident a flood is an overstatement.
No further issues were observed
A Land Transport Authority (LTA) spokesperson told Mothership that intense rainfall caused rainwater to flow into the East Coast Park Underpass on Nov. 13.
"The underpass’s pumping system was activated, and the water receded shortly," the spokesperson said.
The spokesperson added that another check was conducted during the heavy rain on Nov. 16 and no further issues were observed.
