5 illegal immigrants, aged 23 to 54, arrested near Bukit Batok Nature Park
Investigations are ongoing.
Four men were arrested in Bukit Batok on Nov. 9 after they were allegedly found without valid passes and travel documents.
Another 23-year-old man was also arrested for allegedly being a prohibited immigrant in Singapore.
Prohibited immigrants must not enter the country unless given a special pass.
In response to Mothership's queries, police said that an enforcement operation was conducted at the forested area near Bukit Batok Nature Park at around 12:25am.
According to Lianhe Zaobao, the men had reportedly entered Singapore by water but were discovered by the Police Coast Guard.
They were later chased by the police to Bukit Batok Nature Park, and arrested after a 13-hour search.
Investigations are ongoing.
