M'sia woman crawls through house gate as she 'forgot' key, company sponsors her free digital lock

Some of us might call for a locksmith if we forget our keys.

One woman in Malaysia, however, opted to squeeze in between the bars of her gate when she supposedly forgot hers, in what may or may not be a publicity stunt.

The clip

This unusual feat was depicted in a clip posted by Xiaohongshu user "Boonlouisse" on Nov. 21, which was captioned "became a snake".

The video began with the woman squeezing her head and torso through the horizontal bars of the gate to her house.

She then held a handstand position while pulling her legs in.

Subsequently, the woman located the keys to unlock her gate.

No explanation was given as to why the door of her unit was already open at the start of the video.

Digital lock brand reaches out to sponsor her

As expected, the video drew comments on how difficult it was to pull off such a feat.

Italuxe, a Malaysian digital lock brand, also reached out to the user in the comments, and offered to sponsor her with a digital lock.

And in a follow up Xiaohongshu post, the woman showed that she indeed had a new digital lock from Italuxe installed.

While some online users praised the store for honouring its promise, others raised their suspicions that it could all been a marketing gimmick to begin with.

Addressing the store, one user opined in Mandarin, "Those who are able to squeeze through their gate don't really need a sponsored lock. Doesn't it make sense to sponsor those who will get stuck?"
