Motorcyclist in blind spot almost gets run over by container truck at Tuas West traffic junction

A motorcyclist had a close call after a container truck almost completely ran the rider and his two-wheeler over at the junction of Tuas West and Tuas Link 4.
Truck in turning lane
A video posted to social media showed the incident as it unfolded along Tuas West.
A large white container trailer could be seen waiting in the turning lane, preparing to make a right turn.
The truck, hauling a large white container behind it, appeared to begin to inch forward.
Directly in front of the white truck was a stationary white scooter with a rider clad in a white shirt.
Blind spot
The motorcyclist was likely in the truck driver's blind spot.
The truck made contact with the scooter, pushing the smaller vehicle out from under the rider.
The scooter rider quickly hopped off to the left and ended up in front of the truck.
A still image then showed the scooter beside the truck cab, with the truck still stopped in the turning lane.
Comments section
Many in the video's comments appeared to condemn the rider, who was accused of being in the truck driver's blind spot.
But others were more sympathetic, saying that it appeared that the rider had reached the stop line first, based on the scooter's positioning.
If that had been the case, the onus was on the truck driver to notice the scooter.
But if the rider had attempted to cut off the truck by getting in front of it, one commenter described it as a "dangerous stunt".
Others posted blind spot reminders for other motorists.
