Cat A COE price drops S$10,000 to S$89,889, premiums down for most categories
Cheaper to own a car for now.
Certificate of Entitlement (COE) premiums across most categories fell in the latest bidding exercise on Nov. 20.
Cat A
Premiums for Category A cars closed at S$89,889, a 10 per cent drop from S$99,889 in the previous exercise.
The S$10,000 decline is the steepest drop across the categories.
Category A cars are those that do not exceed 1,600cc in capacity and 130bhp in horsepower for non-fully electric cars, and 147bhp for fully electric cars.
Cat B
Premiums for Category B cars fell to S$105,081, a 2.7 per cent drop from S$108,001.
Category B cars refer to those that are bigger than 1,600cc and have horsepower that exceeds 130bhp for non-fully electric cars, and 147bhp for fully-electric cars.
Premiums for goods vehicles and buses rose to S$69,000, a nearly 1 per cent increase from the previous S$68,340.
Motorcycle COE premiums closed at S$8,669, a 4.6 per cent drop from S$9,089 in the previous exercise.
The premiums for open category COEs, which can be used for any vehicle type aside from motorcycles, also fell from S$109,000 to S$107,501, a drop of 1.4 per cent.
A total of 3,507 bids were received in this exercise for a quota of 2,657 COEs available.
