Bloodstains seen in Punggol HDB estate: Man, 22, sent to hospital after alleged group fight
Some walls were notably stained, with blood marks spanning up to 100 meters.
An altercation that likely resulted in blood splattered across the stairs, elevator, and common areas of a Punggol HDB estate took place on the night of Nov. 26.
A 22-year-old man was conveyed conscious to the hospital.
The incident is suspected to involve a fight between a group of youths, according to Shin Min Daily News.
The incident occurred around 8 pm at Block 622B, Punggol Central.
Blood all over
A resident, surnamed Ye (transliteration), told Shin Min that she noticed an ambulance and several police cars at the scene.
She also saw a young man being wheeled into an ambulance on a stretcher while police officers cordoned off a large area on the ground floor of the HDB block.
"I was out shopping and when I was walking down the stairs I found the stairwell was blocked. When I came back I saw one of the two elevators downstairs was also blocked by the police," she said.
Ye reported seeing bloodstains along the walkway leading from the second floor to the void deck.
When a Shin Min reporter visited the scene around 11pm that night, they found the police had lifted the cordon, but more than a dozen officers were still investigating.
Bloodstains were visible on the floor and handrails of an elevator in Block 622B.
The reporter also observed bloodstains in front of several units on the 13th to 15th floors, as well as on the stairwell and walls between the 13th and 14th floors.
Additionally, a long trail of blood was found in the corridor connecting Block 622B to Block 622A.
Some walls were notably stained, with blood marks spanning up to 100 meters.
Shin Min believes that the injured person may have fled through the HDB flats in a panic and later walked to a nearby coffee shop, leaving a blood trail along the way.
Possible fight
Sources told Shin Min that the altercation is believed to have involved a group of teenagers, adding that several suspects may have fled the scene after the incident.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) confirmed with Mothership that they received a call for assistance at Block 622B Punggol Central on Nov. 26 at about 8:10pm.
A 22-year-old man was conveyed in a conscious state to Changi General Hospital.
