M'sia woman takes video of 'figure' in backseat when she's supposed to be driving alone
Can you make out any facial features?
A woman in Malaysia put up a TikTok apparently showing a figure sitting in the backseat of her car when she was supposed to be driving alone.

The overlaid caption in the video read: "When you’re driving and felt like there’s 'something' in the backseat."
What video showed
The 6-second clip was shot from the driver's perspective.
The camera panned to the rearview mirror, which revealed what appeared to be a head of a person whose facial features were obscured due to the backlighting.
However, multiple strands of what looked like hair could be made out in the silhouette.
The video has been watched 1.1 million times since it was posted on Oct. 13.
The caption for the post read: "What do you guys think that is? Or have I mistaken it for something?"
Facial features?
Attempts to adjust the contrast and zoom into stills of the figure's face did not provide any hints as to whether it was human or otherwise.
However, traces of facial features, such as a pair of eyes, appeared visible to some.
It was not known if it was due to splotchy effects of a grainy image though.
Responses
Many commenters appeared spooked by the encounter, while just as many were sceptical about the authenticity of the experience.
Among those who were spooked, they said they would have run out of the car without thinking twice even though the driver was apparently in traffic at the time and would have needed to abandon the car.
They also said they would not have turned around for fear of what might confront them.
Among those who were sceptical, they relied on the same circumstances to justify why they felt the experience appeared fake.
They said the figure was capable of blocking out the backlighting, indicating that it was a solid entity.
Moreover, the post's hashtag, #janganpandangbelakang, translates to "don’t look back", which is the title of an upcoming Malay movie opening on Nov. 21, 2024.
