S'pore primary school vice-principal resigns after being accused of extramarital affair with parent

A primary school vice-principal has tendered his resignation after being accused of having an extramarital affair with a student's parent.

Photos of the vice-principal and a person, who is allegedly a parent of one of his students, were put up on social media.

They have been taken down as of Oct. 18.

The photos of the couple were taken in public together by themselves.

Screenshots of conversations in a messaging app were also put up, but the authenticity cannot be verified.

In response to Mothership's queries, the Ministry of Education (MOE) said it has been made aware of the matter and the vice-principal has tendered his resignation.

MOE added:

School leaders are expected to maintain high standards of personal conduct to uphold the integrity and reputation of the Public Service.

The Ministry of Education is aware of the matter and is looking into it.

The individual has tendered his resignation and is currently on leave.

Meanwhile, the school will continue to actively monitor staff and students’ wellbeing and provide the necessary support.
