Valley Chef Chicken Franks, a popular brand of hotdog, is back in Singapore and sold exclusively at FairPrice.

The announcement of its return was put up on Oct. 16 by the Valley Chef Singapore Facebook page.

The post said it is sold exclusively at Fairprice stores.

Missing for about two years?

The last time the page posted about its products was in December 2022.

Following the cessation of updates on its products on social media, the public noted the absence of Valley Chef Chicken Franks at retailers, such as supermarkets and online stores.

Where did it go?

Valley Chef Chicken Franks, which are also popular in Hong Kong, saw its supply dwindle there, which led to price hikes by retailers.

It was previously reported that the United States company that made Valley Chef Chicken Franks went out of business.

In November 2018, Zacky Farms, a California-based company, filed for bankruptcy.

However, it was unclear what the extent of Zacky Farms' folding had on the production of Valley Chef Chicken Franks over the last several years.

The packaging of the latest batch sold in FairPrice indicated that the hotdogs are imported and distributed in Singapore.

Taste the same?

Some consumers here have already found and bought the Valley Chef Chicken Franks at FairPrice over the past two days.

One consumer, however, claimed it tasted different.
